It was really fast with a few minor hiccups. Initially when I downloaded the app the airport was not on the list so I was bummed, but when arrived to the checkpoint was updated in the app. The only minor issue I had was that the readers for the barcode was having issues and it was hard for it to read the barcode from my phone, after more than a couple of scans went through.
Customs was not busy during our return, but had it been it would be easy to see how this could save a lot of time. We were also chosen for a "random" whether that was a coincidence or not as we were the only 2 using the mobile system is debatable. If there was a line, even with the random screening, we still would have gotten through quicker.
Best hidden secret that no one uses. I use this every time and I'm through customs faster than Global entry. Global entry is ultimately faster, if there's no line. But so many people have it that there's always a little bit of a wait for the machines. I've never had more than 8 people in front of me using mobile passport. There's usually no one there. It's great.
Really helpful app! Couple small annoying points: 1) if you accidentally tap the wrong yes/no checkbox, there's no back button and you can't edit/redo from the confirmation screen, and 2) it waits until you're done to inform you not to complete the declaration until you arrive at your destination, and there's no save option.
Saved me so much time coming back in from the Bahamas! Literally skipped an entire check line and was in and out within 5 minutes. Friends that we were travelling with started to come ill, they did the exact same thing and were in and out in no time! I don't fly out often, but I will for sure say it was worth the trial price. Those that are complaining, I just don't get it..The price is completely fair for the resource of scanning your passport. Oh well. I LOVED IT!
