Turo is revolutionizing the way people rent cars. From convenience and cost savings to unique benefits and more, read on to learn more about what makes Turo special and why you should consider using it the next time you need a vehicle.
Features & Highlights
Turo is a peer-to-peer car-sharing platform that has redefined the way we think about car rentals. Its user-friendly interface and variety of offerings make it a top choice for anyone looking to rent a vehicle. Below are some core features that stand out:
Real Experience Using Turo
Application Scenarios
As someone who loves spontaneity, I frequently use Turo for different scenarios, whether for work or leisure. Just last month, I had a last-minute business meeting in a different city. Instead of taking public transport, I quickly opened Turo, found a stylish sedan nearby, and booked it within minutes. The convenience of being able to choose a vehicle that matched my professional image was invaluable. Additionally, I often use Turo for weekend trips, like the time I rented a charming vintage Volkswagen Beetle for a scenic drive along the coast. The experience was not only about getting from point A to B; it was also about enjoying the journey itself.
User Experience
The Turo app is designed with user experience in mind. The interface is clean and intuitive, making navigation a breeze. I particularly appreciate how quickly I can filter search results based on preferences like car type, price range, and location. Booking a vehicle is straightforward, thanks to the step-by-step workflow that guides you from selection to payment. I found the performance reliable, with the app loading quickly and providing real-time updates about my rental status. Overall, using Turo has been a delightful experience, as it feels like a community-driven service rather than just a transactional platform.
Pricing
Turo's pricing is competitive compared to traditional rental services. The cost varies widely depending on the car model, rental duration, and location. For instance, I once rented a high-end car for a reasonable daily rate, which included insurance options that added a slight premium but offered peace of mind. Additionally, I’ve found that last-minute bookings often come with discounts, making it an attractive option for spontaneous travelers like me.
Updates & Support
Turo regularly updates its app to enhance user experience, adding new features based on customer feedback. I’ve noticed improvements in the booking process and the addition of helpful tips for first-time users. If I ever encountered an issue, Turo's customer support has been responsive, providing assistance through their in-app chat feature. They also have a comprehensive help center that addresses common queries and concerns, which I found useful during my early days of using the app.
Security & Privacy Review
As a user in the U.S., security and privacy are paramount when using apps like Turo. First off, Turo is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it's accessible and meets platform standards. During the registration process, I was required to provide personal information, including identification for verification. This step is crucial for ensuring that both renters and owners can trust each other. However, the app is transparent about how this data is used, which is comforting.
Regarding ads or tracking behavior, I’ve noticed that Turo does collect data to personalize user experiences and improve services. While I appreciate tailored suggestions based on my preferences, I always recommend being mindful of privacy settings. The app does allow users to manage their preferences, which is a welcome feature for those concerned about data usage. Overall, Turo takes security seriously, and my experiences have reflected that commitment.

App is great - fees leave you wishing you didn't use it. It was labor day and I needed a car, but car rental companies had no inventory, so I gave turo a try. It was easy to sort cars by type and price. I chose a renter that had a storefront business, and they were great! My mistake was checking out without looking closely at the end price, because the end price was 40% more because of the fees! If you use turo and see companies using their platform, check if they have a website. Book direct!

App has issues. When I was picking up the car, during the check-in process, the app was lagging and said I don't have internet service, uploading pictures was taking extremely long. Biggest issue was when I submitted that I need to return car day early and I had no response, when I arrived to airport I had to call support. it took so long to solve it for them, that I almost missed my flight. And finally when got approved for early return, check out process had same issue with app as at check in.

It sent me an ad as a notification on my phone. I go into the app's settings to disable ads/promotions, only to find that you can either disable in-app text notifications (important), or enable ads by email (not important). Fine, I'll just disable ads using Android's baked-in per-app notification settings. Nop! Only thing I can turn off are "general notifications", which would probably impact text alerts within the app. In short, Turo sends me ads via notifications that I can't turn off.

Turo app is the best! Very easy to navigate, hassle free to find and book a rental, providing 2 way feedback from the host and renters which keeps an honest review of all parties, nothing hidden. I love not having to worry about major credit cards, itenerary, or large deposits at major car rental companies. The only con is: How do I leave a review for the host 😬. I am not seeing the option under my "trips" just after closing the rental (less than 10 days).

I've rented 3 cars on turo. First time everything went as planned. The second time there was problem with the car and we had to divert our trip which cost us a few hours. The third time the day before the trip the car was cancelled. When I rebooked there was barely any equivalent cars left. I had to book for another $200 extra. Turonis a good app in face of a difficult industry. However you need to have alternate plans ready at all times and be flexible. Having young kids is a no-no.
